In response to a recent high-profile investigation into the tax affairs of cricket-clubs by the HMRC Mead Sport and Leisure Limited, the specialist cricket club insurance broker (, has added a tax help-line as a standard benefit to its cricket-club insurance policy.

The service – which is free to all Mead cricket-club policyholders whose cover incepts from the 12th June 2013 – will provide a first port-of-call to clubs worried about their tax position following the recent case as reported in this Daily Telegraph article.

“We are delighted to be able to offer this service to our cricket club clients.”, said commercial director of Mead, Keith Letchford.  “As cricketers ourselves, we know that most clubs are run by volunteers and often find it difficult to keep on top of their financials.  When we approached our insurers, Hiscox Insurance, about a potential solution to this problem they were only happy to help.”

Interested parties should contact Keith Letchford on 0800 0850 261.
